When life buries you, swallowing dirt is the way out of the hole. Read it again.
Swallowing dirt = doing what you know you should and don’t want to do.
Diet.
Quitting an addiction (or your toxic relationship of choice 🙂
Play sports.
Cut drama and victimhood.
Overcome laziness.
Reinvent yourself.
There is no other option, you have to eat dirt.
If I could travel back in time and tell my 2015 self that the path was to reconcile with my family (eat dirt), quit smoking (eat dirt), and have schedules and structure (eat more dirt), my 2015 self would tell me “You’re crazy!”.
My 2024 self knows that the crazy one was him.
My 2015 self had to anesthetize himself with Netflix marathons, cigarettes, carbs, and victimhood.
My 2024 self doesn’t need anesthesia to live.
My 2015 self had no control over her life because she had her conscience locked up and disallowed.
My 2024 self is the captain of her life; she is not drifting.
Look, you are like a rowboat; you have 1) the boat, 2) the rowers, and 3) the captain.
For me…
The boat is the body.
The rowers are the thoughts.
The captain is the consciousness that guides you (your true “I”).
If neither the boat (body) nor the rowers (thoughts) listen to the captain (consciousness), you are an NPC,
Note: NPC is a non-player character (prop characters without consciousness that video games have created by the computer).
And you are because you live kidnapped by your bad ideas, whims, and habits.
How often do you feel bad doing something that your true conscience (Captain) doesn’t want to do just because your body (your boat) or your thoughts (the rowers) demand it?
You see, deep down you know you are hijacked 🙂
Because every time your physical impulses or capricious thoughts impose themselves on your prudence and common sense, your conscience loses more and more authority. And little by little, you become a zombie slave to the base passions of your avatar.
So give authority back to the captain (your conscience).
Start imposing schedules and structures on yourself (earth eater), and soon you will flourish.
