Three Paulo Coelho’s Quotes That (if You Apply Them) Will Improve Your Life

The first time I read Paulo Coelho, he blew my mind.

His pop prose, mixed with the most profound spiritual lessons, made me discover a new world.

A magical universe where not everything is determined by causes and effects.

A place where metaphysics becomes a reality and magic inhabits the everyday.

The first time I read Paulo changed my life BETTER.

And I want to share with you three of his most potent phrases that I have personally extracted after reading all his books.
Let’s start.

1. On Reality

Whoever wants to learn magic must begin by looking around him. — Paulo Coelho (Book: Hippie)

We live surrounded by magic, but we are no longer surprised; little by little, life becomes gray around us.

There is magic in every dawn.

There is magic in every nightfall.

There is magic in contemplating the sky on a starry night.

There is magic in everything around you.

But if we do not stop to delight in the miracle of life, everything seems vulgar.

Paulo invites us in his books to be surprised again every day, to let ourselves be captivated by the beauty that emanates from simplicity and simplicity. Because if we do so, our lives will begin to improve.

Everything you don’t see is what you need to find to evolve. The paradoxical thing is that everything you don’t see is usually hidden in front of you.

You have to look at your world with new eyes. Stand up and see everything around you as if it were magic (it is), and you will find the keys that will take your life to the next level.

Magic exists and is closer to you than you think.

2. On the obstacles

The warrior of light sometimes acts like water, and flows through the obstacles he encounters. — Paulo Coelho (Book: Warrior of the Light: A Manual)

In one of the sections of his manual for the warrior of the light, Paulo stresses the importance of obstacles. Because if life crystallizes, it fractures, and we need to flow so as not to remain stagnant.

In Paulo’s words, “accept that the stones of the road trace their course through the mountains.”

And the funny thing about the obstacles we face throughout life is that they define us and are not only part of the path; they create it.

Your financial problems lead you to find solutions, and these solutions make your path.

Your health problems limit you and, in doing so, make you carry out different routines, which make you do things very other from what you would typically do without that limitation or illness.

Your personal problems may cause you to change your place of residence, your partner, or your continent. Therefore they also create the path through which you have to flow.

In short, you become water to transcend the rocks you find on your path (the problems), but they divert your path.

And that is precisely living because, as Coelho says, “The water of a river adapts to the most feasible path without forgetting your goal: the sea.”

3. On destiny

When we want something, we set in motion powerful energies, and we can no longer hide from ourselves the real purpose of our life. — Paulo Coelho (Book: Maktub)

Our personal legend is so powerful that when we find that which resonates within us as a calling, there is no turning back.

Paul assures us that “when we want something, we choose the price we will pay.”

And it is true because following your calling will cost you dearly, and life or the universe will challenge you to see how much you want it.

Your destiny may require you to quit your job, move to a new country and learn new skills. But once you feel the call of personal legend, there is no turning back.

Because no matter how high the price, it is much more expensive to spend your life denying yourself your destiny, grow old, and regret not having tried.

Don’t waste your life; listen to the call and take action.
