Three Soul-Healing Quotes by Nobel Price Winner Rabindranath Tagore

Learn from the wisdom of one of the best poets of all time.

I have a disturbing theory about poetry.

Poetry is like code: it programs our minds to feel in a specific way and vibrate at specific frequencies.

That is why there are poems that make us happy while others make us sad.

Therefore, I want to share some phrases taken from the poetic work of the novel literature prize winner Rabindranath Tagore: so that they make your brain boom and healing emotions blossom in you.

Let’s begin.

1. On purpose

“Let me only make my life straight and simple, like a reed flute, for you to fill it with music.” — Rabindranath Tagore.

We are like instruments with which the universe plays its song.
That is why we have to be tuned so that the creative force blows through our flute, as Tagore says.

My function as a writer is to be aligned with that creative force (the universe) to channel it into our 3D reality.

That is my purpose in life.

Ideas choose us. Our purpose determines us. Our role is to be ready. And to accept that destiny by performing to the best of our ability.

Application to your life: Your destiny will find you, but if you are not prepared, it will pass you by, and look for someone who is. Focus on being calm, and the universe will do the rest.

2. On things

“The boy dressed as a prince, hung with rich chains, loses the taste of his play, because his attire hinders him at every step.” — Rabindranath Tagore.

The chains of this world can be of many kinds.

  • Inheritances.
  • Material possessions.
  • False beliefs.

But they all lead you to the same state: captivity.

Maybe you were born into a family that oppresses you to follow their tradition.

Maybe you have a lot of things that you don’t use but require your attention and maintenance.

Maybe you believe you don’t deserve this or that and live a sad life.

All these, as Tagore says, are the chains of the prince. All that takes the joy out of life. All that keeps you imprisoned. Free yourself.

Application to your life: don’t let anything or anyone stop you from playing like a child (not even yourself .) Only those who are like children (those who have faith) will enter the kingdom of heaven (be happy).

3. On the ego

“Pride cannot approach you, who walk, in the garb of the miserable, among the poorest, the humblest and the lost.” — Rabindranath Tagore.

In short: only humility will lead you to the truth because the ego binds us to a vision of reality that is not real and separates us from each other.

Tagore speaks of someone like Jesus, who we understand as “The way, the truth, and the life.” And to reach that ultimate truth, we need to emulate his actions by freeing ourselves from egos.

Today many people believe that spirituality is drinking green tea, eating vegetables, traveling to Peru to take Ayahuasca, practicing mindfulness, dressing in orange, cleansing your aura with palo santo, and keeping mercury retrograde from screwing up your day.

But spirituality (religion of any kind you want) is Religae which means to bind tightly, to unite to the source. And that is only possible through empathy and mercy.

Misericordia (mercy) comes from Latin and is composed of the sum of two words,

Miser (miserable, wretched) + cordis (heart).

Therefore mercy is the capacity to feel the misery of others.

Ergo, merely contemplative spirituality is not enough.

Tagore says, “Come out of your ecstasy; leave off your flowers and incense! What does it matter if your clothes are stained or ragged? Meet him, stand by his side, work, and let him sweat your brow!”

Application to your life: if you seek spirituality to reduce the pain, anxiety, and dissatisfaction that surrounds your life (as is my case and that of many), try to go less to have your chakras aligned and begin to cultivate a pragmatic spirituality through your charitable works either by helping in some NGO or treating better the people around you, you will see how by doing so in a short time your life improves much more than going to have your tarot cards read 🙂

This is true…. I play like a kid. Believe in the universe and I’m 99% happy all the time. The 1% is for the occasional human nuisance. Lol 🤣

  2. And you always make me smile, my friend.

    1. Love you 😘
