#3 — False Lucky Encounters.
Many times we become obsessed and think we see signs everywhere.
And it’s a problem because we can get completely off the right path and go backward in our spiritual progress.
It has happened to me so many times that I want to share three false signs so that what you think is a shortcut doesn’t lead you to a dead end.
1. Emerging opportunities.
“Encourage and persevere in that noble ideal that has just been born in you. — See that many flowers bloom in the spring, and few of them bear fruit.”- Jose Maria Escriva de Balaguer
Sometimes we mistake good omens for specific opportunities that present themselves to us out of the blue.
These signs tend to be so exotic that they can seduce you immediately.
But deep down, they are secondary goals that your ego subconsciously seeks when things are going well for you.
Your ego wants it all: for you to write a book, have a podcast, record a ranchera album, run for a reality show, run for mayor, set up a cocktail bar with karaoke, and sing in it 🙂
But all of that is aimed at spiritual self-sabotage. Because the ego knows that if you stay focused on your calling, you will transcend, and it will have to cease to exist to become something new.
2. False closed doors.
“One does not arrive at salvation without crossing a stormy sea that always threatens.” — Padre Pio.
We often believe that when we do not achieve something the first time, the universe tells us, “It is not your destiny.”
But deep down, it is just another trick of the ego that is afraid of rejection.
When something doesn’t come out the first time, the second time, or the 300th time, it may be a test from the universe.
Look at the success stories; every person who has achieved something significant in their niche has been rejected hundreds of times. If you don’t believe it, research the history of Seth Godin, JK Rowling, and Stephen King.
3. False Lucky Encounters.
“Responsibility lies with the one who chooses it.” — Plato.
Temptations are more robust as you progress spiritually.
And many times, we convince ourselves that they are signs from the universe.
But again, it is a trick of the ego to get pleasure.
It’s like the ex-smoker who deludes himself by saying, “I’ll smoke one and never smoke another,” and ends up smoking twice as much as he did before quitting.
If something corrupts your values, it will destroy everything you have built on them.
In a temporary world, being true to your principles is the rock that will save you and all those you inspire with your life.
Remember: you are fighting for yourself and all those who aspire to follow your path, so you must be conscious and not fail your tribe.
