Three Quick Rumi Quotes With Timeless Life Lessons to Share

#3. There is a path that cries out to you, “Come back,” every time you turn away.

Some texts are like stones that fall into the middle of the pond of history, and their ripples echo until the end of time.

Imperishable texts merge with new eras, acquiring new meanings and applications but maintaining the essence of the first impact.

One of the world’s great word magicians was undoubtedly the Sufi poet Rumi.

His texts continue to resonate from his birth in 1207 to the present day.

That is why I love to research his poems and writings to rescue those encrypted messages they hide and share them with you.

Here are three that hide powerful life lessons.

1. You are more valuable than you think.

“You are the talisman that protects a treasure and you are also the mine where it was discovered. Open wide the hidden eyes, return to the root of the root of being.” — Rumi.

We must learn to look inward with the eyes of the soul.

When we look with our physical eyes, we look at the universe around us, but when we look inward with the eyes of consciousness, we discover that the universe also dwells within us.

We are powerful creatures capable of becoming a blessing (talisman) and abundance (treasure) for all creation around us.

To regain your power, you must only look within and connect with your root, with its first essence.

2. Love is not what you have been told it is in the movies.

“Love is a stranger who speaks a strange language, like an Arab in Persia”. — Rumi.

Love is much more than the concept of “romantic love.”

True love is a powerful force capable of creating and destroying new realities.

Love has a cathartic component that is so powerful that it resembles a wild horse that no one can tame.

We only know a part of what love is. As Rumi says, “Love is a tree, lovers its shadow.” And we, as in Plato’s cave, can only see the shadows of the concepts, not the concepts that cast the shadows.

Love is a great mystery, a powerful light of which we can only recognize its silhouette by its shadow.

Love and its mystery unite us. Love is the sea of which we are but of its waves.

3. There is a path that cries out to you “come back” every time you turn away.

“Did I not tell you “Don’t go that way, I am your friend. Chimera is existence, I am the source of life”? Even if anger drives you away for a thousand years, you will eventually return, for I am your destiny.” — Rumi.

Life has shown me that you have to get lost to find yourself. Because when we lose ourselves, we stop having ties and social conditioning and pay attention to the silence.

And in that silence, we begin to hear our calling.

When we lower the noise of daily reality, we hear that inner voice that urges us to do things that we always had clear deep down.

We all have something that has haunted us since we were children, and no matter how much we move away from that activity over the years, we end up returning to it as if it were a magnet and we were iron filings.

If these words resonate with you, maybe it is time to listen to that voice and give your destiny a chance because, as Rumi wrote, talking about the creator universe/God/universal energy or whatever you want to call it,

“Did I not say to you “I am the Sea, you are a mere fish; do not be stranded on dry land, I am your still waters”?

Go back to the sea, little Nemo, don’t stay on the beach, dare to swim and be happy.

A virtual hug
