Four Weird Things That Can Change Your Life

#4. Heal your inner chatter.

We live boring lives full of familiar places: we watch the same tv programs, we go to the same sites on holidays, and we buy the same stuff in the same supermarket, and obviously, we get the same results.

Why do we do that?

No, seriously. Like most of your co-workers, how will you become wealthy by spending your entire monthly paycheck on going out, drinking, buying junk, and not saving a dollar?

How will you achieve a bikini body for the following summer if you eat the same hamburger as your peers in Mcdonald’s daily?

How will you improve your life if you invest your money in going on a trip to Disney like everyone else instead of paying for that masterclass to acquire new skills and set up your online business?

Spoiler: You won’t make it, like everybody else.

You have to do things differently. You must be the weirdest person in the room and be proud of it.

Here are four weird things to start with; if you apply them, magic will flow into your life.

It works for me and maybe for you.

1. High-five every morning with your reflection

Every morning when you go to the bathroom, the first thing you have to do it’s high fiving yourself in the mirror.

I know it sounds weird, but if you do it for a while, your brain starts to see your reflection as your friend.

It sounds crazy, but it works because you can’t start doing things to love yourself more and don’t love yourself more.

It’s like going to the gym and doing a diet. You can’t eat healthily and exercise every day without losing a pound.

I’ll tell you more: every day, I look in the mirror and blow myself a kiss, then wink at myself and say, “but how handsome and amazing you are, bro.”

I do that every single day, even if I feel uncomfortable under my skin, even if I see myself as fat or ugly, or even if I wake up with bad humor. And, mate, do you know what? My life’s better since I do that sh*t.

2. Make a list of the things you are lazy to do

Your laziness is your master. Read that again.

I know, weird, let me explain it to you.

For me, Stephen Pressfield is like Yoda and has a powerful rule: “The stronger the resistance you feel, the more important it is for you to do that, whatever it is.”

And life shows me back to back that Stephen is Yoda for something.

So, you can make your laziness (resistance) work for you instead of against you.

Get paper and pen and list the things you feel lazier to do.

I’ll show you mine.

  • Writing
  • Stop eating pasta.
  • Go running.
  • Have a social life.

Guess what? That’s the four most important things I need.

I need to write every day to inspire you and also me. I have to eat more vegetables instead of spaghetti carbonara. So I have to move my body and get my fat ass to run every damn day. And because I’m an introverted looner, I MUST force myself to have more social interactions.

Now it’s your turn; make your list, and reflect on it.

3. Shine, baby shine

When you change all around, you change.

Usually, when you want to change something in the external world, you must operate in the outer world. But, try it the exact contrary way.

Try to change the outside changing the inside.

If you need to make more money, work inside yourself, acquire new skills, and then offer them to the marketplace.

If you want someone you love better their life, better your life instead of lecturing you on what you should do.

My brother quit the habit when I quit smoking, and four of my friends did.

When I started giving money to charity, my mother started doing it and also behaving more kindly.

Shine, baby, shine, because the better you’ll become, the more lives you’ll inspire.

I know it’s weird and contra intuitive, but it works.

Don’t argue with people; pray for your enemies, and they’ll become your allies.

4. Heal your inner chatter

Words are powerful, more than you think.

Put some sad video reflections on youtube and let your body feel what happens next.

Go to see someone who is always tired and victimizing herself all the time. That sh*t drains your energy, Right?

Words, in a way, produce synesthesia.

Synesthesia changes senses, for example, to hear colors, smell sounds, etc.

And certain words make us feel, see and experience all kinds of things and emotions.

When you have someone next to you who tells you they are tired all the time, guess what? You start to feel tired too.

You turn on the TV and see indignant people arguing on a news program; guess what? In less than five minutes, you, too, will be arguing with the TV, resentful and full of anger.

Crazy, right?

People consume all kinds of information without realizing that we don’t just eat with our mouths; we eat with our brains.

We eat information through our ears and eyes, and in our mind, we process it as if our brain were our stomach, and in the same way that food can make us well or sick, our thoughts do the same.

Therefore, start to heal your inner monologue and forbid yourself to use certain words or phrases that make you sick.

Words like loser or failure, because you know… You are a weird person, but that makes you an awesome one.

A virtual hug
