The 10 Golden Rules for Having Shining Life

#6- Don’t think you are immortal.

I remember my grandfather a lot.

He had a funny way of telling stories. He did it through lists of rules, and one of his favorites was The 10 Golden Rules for Having Shining Life.

I want to continue the tradition and share his list with you as a present.

1. Never interrupt people when they are talking

Wait your turn. It shows politeness, poise, and interest in others. Besides, it’s better to listen because you get information than to talk and reveal your advantages.

2. He who makes it pays

You have to keep your word. And if for some reason you can’t keep it… be honest, ask for forgiveness every time you make a mistake, and try to restore the emotional or material damage you have caused.

3. Move your money

You have to invest your money. And the best way I know is to invest it in you. Learn new things, hire mentors, and take courses. The skills you acquire will increase your capital exponentially.

4. Don’t let yourself be defeated

The fight is not over until you give up. But, above all, don’t let yourself be defeated by doubt, fear, ego, or that self-destructive self that we all carry.

5. Do not sell your properties

Rent them or exploit them, but do not sell them. Selling is the last option. You will want to leave a legacy, and the more you own, the more you will have to share with your loved ones.

6. Don’t think you are immortal; you will die like everyone else

The mistake of the young is to think that getting old happens to others. And if you believe that you will be young forever, one day, you will wake up and discover that you were left behind in the race of life. Everything has a time and a place. There is a time to dance and a time to work. So do everything in its time, or you will only get pain.

7. Never settle

People will tell you to settle for what you have, but it’s to eliminate you from the competition. To live a good life, you must stay in the arena because you never know what unforeseen events may come knocking on your or your children’s door. — (My grandfather was born with nothing in the so-called famine era, lived to be 92 and still invested in the stock market, farmed many acres of land, and worked in his orchard).

8. Do what you say

People talk a lot and do little. Let your actions speak for you. Words are carried away by the wind. And he who talks a lot does little. But your word is the law. So whatever you say, please do it.

9. Be aware of your fragility and act accordingly

You are not safe. Your comfort zone will not keep you prosperous and happy forever. Everything you have can be lost in a second — an illness, an accident, a stock market crash. A thousand things can happen. So if you want to live a good life, be grateful for each day for what it is: a miracle.

10. Be aware of who you let into your life

Everyone’s loved ones hold the key to your happiness but also the key to the gate of your pain and discomfort. For your part, do not speak ill of others or betray your friends. Don’t be a snitch; if they ask you about yours, answer like the Italians, “Non capito” (I don’t know what you’re talking about). Family and friends come first, be loyal.

Follow these rules and your life will shine like gold 🙂

A virtual hug
