Some people are not people. They are angels disguised as people.
There are people who appear when you need them most. People who are angels disguised as regular Joes. People who hold your hand when no one else does.
There are people whose words have the power to heal. There are people who have the gift of listening without judging. People who have the gift of making you smile with their presence and heal your wounds with their hugs.
There are few, but there are.
I call them Miracle Workers because they make the impossible possible and bring joy to our hearts when we feel really bad.
Here are five signs by which you can identify them. Who knows, maybe you are one of them.
Check it out
1. You pursue excellence in everything you do.
“Do always your best”
If you’re a Miracle Worker, that’s your mantra.
You are detail-oriented and dedicated. You never give less than you can; you always give one hundred percent, even if you are not at your 100%.
For you, quality is more important to you than quantity.
When you give advice, you treat each person individually because you know that what works for one doesn’t work for everyone.
And you never give up. You try again and again. It’s not in your nature to leave anyone behind (even when many people close to you have left you behind).
2. You see the light in the dark.
You have changed a lot from a decade ago. And now you can guide those who are in the pit or in the pits in which you were trapped.
- You know what addiction is.
- You know what it’s like to lose hope.
- You know the courage it takes to move forward when every atom in your body asks you to give up.
- You know the way to get out of the darkness and the shadows, to get out of the deserts of life, make it through the night of the soul, and, in the end, see the sun.
Experience is a degree. If you are an honest Miracle Worker, you have crawled through the dirt, the darkness, and the pain and have made it through situations where many others are stuck.
So now you can lead because you have survived all that.
3. You don’t have many friends.
If you are a Miracle Worker, you do not waste much time with your conscience lost in material things. You don’t feel jealous or envious of others. And you are happy when someone does better than you.
But paradoxically, you don’t have many friends for one of these two reasons.
- You lost them in your spiritual awakening. But you’re fine with that. You had to let go of the burden in order to fly.
- The Universe/God hides its best warriors so that public exposure cannot harm them.
4. Even on days you feel bad, you smile.
If you’re a Miracle Worker, you know that your attitude can brighten the life of someone who woke up tired of struggling.
That’s why you put your heart into it even when you feel terrible. That’s why you smile when you feel like crying. That’s why you encourage others.
You lead by example. And you spread your energy to everyone who is lucky enough to cross your path.
And despite the bad things you’ve been through, if you are a Miracle Worker, you have so much love inside you that it overcomes the resentment caused by all the injustices you endured. And now all you want is to feel good and, if possible, help others.
5. You have common sense.
After many mistakes, when you are a Miracle Worker, you know what is wrong with a subtlety and clarity few others have.
You know things NOT SO EVIDENT, like “addiction is so subtle at times, it doesn’t let you see that you are addicted until years after you’ve quit what consumed you.”
You have lost so much that you can lecture on the beautiful and hard art of letting go.
And for that, you are a miraculous force that transforms the lives of others.
If you are one of them: Thank you.
A virtual hug
