The Subtle Sign That the Universe Always Sends Me Every Time It is About to F*ck Up My Life

Learn from my pain.

Don’t you find that every time life goes a little bit right for you, something happens, and everything goes to shit?

Sometimes I think the universe has the same sense of humor as Jim Jefferies: sadistic and twisted.

I wish the universe would notify you when things will change for you by email.

Dear AG:

I’ve been thinking that you’ve been doing it good for too long and it’s time for you to descend into hell so you don’t forget where you came from.

Sincerely yours,

The Universe 🙂

But even though it doesn’t, over the years, I have detected the unmistakable signal with which the universe warns me that things will change so I can hold on tight because the roller coaster of life is about to descend at 200 mph towards a triple looping.

And I want to share that signal with you, so you won’t be caught off guard the next time the universe is about to turn your world upside down.

The sign announcing your apocalypse 🙂

The unmistakable sign that the universe will f*ck you up is so subtle that you hardly notice it. It is a small daily change or setback.

That small daily setback begins to repeat over time, and its waves end up sweeping across the calm sea that was your life until it becomes a tsunami that sweeps everything away.

Let me share with you three small personal examples.

  1. Because of a change in company policy, I was advised that my consultative way of selling needed to be aligned with the company that wanted me to adapt to a more aggressive type of selling.
  2. A small virus (that we all know about) was spreading until it locked us all in our homes the same day my book was put in most libraries in my country, completely ruining sales.
  3. An innocent comment about me snoring at night caused me and my partner to sleep in separate rooms.

Each of these changes wreaked biblical havoc on my life.

  • The company’s sales policy change got me fired, and I had to reinvent myself as a writer.
  • The failure of my book forced me to abandon my native language and write in English on this platform.
  • The snoring comment degenerated until my former partner called me one day from Edinburgh and told me he was breaking up with me after seven years of a relationship.

Why is the universe so rude?

It does it so that we evolve. Because when you get used to the good things, you stop making an effort and changing.

And the meaning of life is always to grow.

If you don’t grow, you die.

And the universe is a stern father who wants the best for his children.

That’s why it shakes the tree of life from time to time so that the fruits fall and new trees are born from them.

In other words: every time the universe screws up your life, it is because you have already learned what you need to know from that time of life. And it is time to pick the fruits of that period (learning) and apply them to sow new dreams and obtain fresh harvests.

Takeaway

When your instinct alerts you to one of these small changes or setbacks, and you notice them repeating daily, give yourself some time with yourself and do some brainstorming.

Write down in a notebook what your current resources and skills are. And how you could recycle yourself in a new personal, professional, or spiritual life if the one you have goes to shit.

It’s better to be safe than sorry. Don’t forget that.

Don’t wait for the small wave that the universe made in the sea of your tranquility to become a Tsunami that sweeps everything away. And get to work: reinvent yourself.

You don’t have to ruin the life you have, but maybe you can look for other economic sources of income, and new clients, have uncomfortable conversations with your partner to find out where your relationship stands, or meet new people.

Experience tells me the sooner you reinvent yourself, the better.
The universe favors the brave. Don’t forget that.

A virtual hug

AG
