I Lived in a State of Quiet Desperation Until I Began to Hear Messages From the Universe

Learn to listen to what the universe wants to tell you.

When I was 25, I asked my girlfriend if she would still love me if I went bankrupt, and she replied, “Of course, honey. And I would miss you so much.”

Years later, I went bankrupt, and she made good on her subtle threat.
Since then, if I had to choose one adjective to qualify my life, it would be “Disturbing.”

My ex dumped me, a friend kicked me out of my Start Up, my grandfather died, and I ended up in a ball sleeping on the floor of an unfurnished room in a shared apartment.

Since then, I have started a resigned life of quiet desperation.

Where more and more and worse shit happened to me, and I just did the only thing I knew how to do: swallow.

And let me tell you something: acquired helplessness sucks.

Acquired helplessness is like a silent cancer that metastasizes after spreading through all areas of your life.

And I thought I was helpless in the face of life, so I lived in victim mode 24/7.

Until the universe became so intense, I had no choice but to listen to its messages.

The funny thing was the universe’s three methods to get me to listen to it.

1. Strangers

People you meet by chance are often the most direct way the universe contacts you.

If you don’t interact with people, you make it harder for the universe.

So if you want some advice: be nice to the waitress, give way to people in a hurry, and help your neighbor carry his bags home from the store.

Being friendly to strangers has a strange effect on the reality around you.

You may not realize it initially, but treating people well and interacting with strangers starts an invisible butterfly effect capable of transforming your life in less than six months.

2. Too concrete coincidences

The second way I have discovered that the universe speaks to me is through coincidences.

For example, when I returned to Madrid, I needed a job. But I was rejected selection process after selection process, which undermined my self-esteem.

But one day, I was summoned to a multinational company. When they gave me the address, I discovered with astonishment that the office building was on Alberto Garcia Street (my name).

That made me think, “This is because this job is going to be for me,” and so it was.

The universe wanted to help me regain my confidence, not just help me find a job.

Confidence is watered with certainties, and self-esteem flourishes. And you want to have self-esteem because only the love you feel for yourself can heal all the shit you’ve been through.

Why is it important to heal? Because if you don’t, you end up anesthetizing yourself with all kinds of substances and bad habits.

Want to kick an addiction?

Increase the love you feel for yourself, and you’ll stop needing what you’re addicted to 🙂

3. Capicua numbers

The last way I have proven beyond any doubt that the universe wants to tell me something is through numerical signals.

It is as if the numbers were the voice of the GPS of the universe.

  • 11 is “be aware next exit 300 meters.”
  • 22 is the “recalculating route.”
  • 33 means “You are on the right track and will soon arrive at your destination.”

Whenever eleven starts showing up too often, the universe is about to turn my existence upside down. At first, I took it as a bad omen, but deep down; it’s a change of direction, an end of the cycle.

And in the end, all those supposed catastrophes that happened to me after a season of seeing eleven everywhere ended up being blessings because these catastrophes forced me to find my way and progress.

Every time I see the 22nd, it’s like, take time off, wander, there’s no rush.

And every time 33 keeps repeating itself to me, it usually means I’m on the right track. And that good things are going to happen for me 🙂

Takeaway

Life has shown me repeatedly that it doesn’t matter if you don’t want to listen to the universe because the universe has all the time in the world for you to listen to it. And it is very patient.

But it also gets more intense as the years pass, sending you bigger signals.

Today it can be T-shirts with the number 11; tomorrow, it can be neon signs.

The important thing is to remember that we have a mission to accomplish and that the sooner we collaborate, the better things will go.

My life has changed for the better since I follow my heart’s designs and the clues that the universe leaves me along the way.

And I hope it happens to you too.

A virtual hug
