Learn to shine with your light
Do you live in hell?
Change how you look at things, and you’ll change how you live your life.
As simple as that.
The only thing you have to do is to clean the way you look.
But it’s not an easy thing to do.
The first time I used this method I was going to share with you, I was burning in hell.
I looked around me, and I thought that everyone was the enemy. But the only real enemy I had was me.
What is the real reason for doing what you do?
That is one of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself as an adult. That is the first question I asked myself when I hit rock bottom. That is the question you have to ask yourself.
In my case, honestly, even the good things I did — being polite with a stranger, doing my work with efficiency, training hard at the Gym — I filled with bad intentions.
If I was polite to you, I wanted to date you.
If I did my work efficiently, it wasn’t to help my client but to win more money for myself.
If I lifted heavy weights at the Gym, it wasn’t to be more healthful but to have a bikini body to f*ck more.
No big deal, right?
Yes, it was a big deal.
The Jesus quote that changed my life for the better
“The lamp of the body is the eye; so, if your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is evil, your whole body will be in darkness. So then, if the light that is in you is darkness, how much darkness itself will not be darkness?” — Matthew 6:22–23
We tend to forget that the bible is a manual for living a good life. And there is a lot of sound wisdom inside.
The quote means that if you see things with bad intentions inside, no matter what you do, you’ll get into all kinds of trouble.
You have to do good things for a good reason. Reread it.
When, as I used to, you look at people with lust in the eyes, nothing good will happen in your relationships. People want a team player, not a predator, to hang out with.
When, as I used to, you try to win more without helping your clients, aka reducing costs, your business fails, and you get broke.
When, as I used to, you train like a beast to look like Jason Staten, you hurt your body and get fat because you can’t go to the Gym for several months.
Conversely, If you do the right things for the right reasons, your life will improve.
Extraordinary people will start surrounding your personal life if you treat them how you want to be treated. Try to look at people with kindness instead of with interest, and you’ll see. You start looking at the history behind the scars and defects of the people, not the ugliness in it.
When you stop being superficial, you realize that most people’s physical defects have an overcoming history behind them—the stretch marks from being a mother. The lack of molars is due to the poverty someone went through as a child—the wrinkles of the worries a mother had to face until finally seeing her children succeed. You can only know all when you have light in your eyes instead of darkness.
Darkness only looks at the material, whether a person is attractive or not. The light sees what is in the submerged part of the iceberg that hides each person. Don’t forget that.
If instead of trying to get the most money out of every client that walks through your office door, you focus on helping them solve their specific needs and not overcharging them, word of mouth will start to fill your business with new clients.
If you go to the Gym to train moderately, you will start to detach yourself from recurring narcissistic thoughts that only make you focus on unimportant things, and you will begin to focus on what matters: your health.
Takeaway
When Jesus was asked for them times one person has to forgive others, he answered seventy times seven, which means always.
But Jesus didn’t want the disciple to be Job.
Jesus saw that behind his disciple’s question was the intention to discount offenses to get rid of someone.
The intention behind his question was evil (Darkness in his eyes).
That is why he answers him with words full of positive intent (Returning light into his eyes).
As you look at the world, the world looks at you. If you view everyone with suspicion and evil intent, you will fill your inner world with darkness. If, on the other hand, you see everything from a positive and loving perspective, your internal world will be filled with light. And your life will improve enormously.
