And makes work the attraction law.
When your life is a pimple the size of a golf ball, the first thing you have to do is to pop it.
Thanks to the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, I popped that pimple. And all the pus (my sins) came out of me.
Since then, I have not stopped reading the bible because I find,d answers to my daily problems (and it disinfects my wound).
Problems, like having low self-esteem.
Having low self-esteem is a b*tch because if you think your dreams are too much for you, what you are telling the universe is that you are not worthy enough to achieve them.
And instead of using the law of attraction, you are using the law of rejection: blocking your dreams.
This used to happen to me until I discovered the solution in a passage from the bible.
“Jesus is anointed in Bethany” — Matthew 26:6–13
In this passage, Matthew tells us a little story,
- Jesus is in the house of Simon, a.k .a. The Leper.
- A woman enters with a cup of expensive perfume and pours it on Jesus.
- The disciples say that it is a waste to spend money on colognes; it would have been better to use it to feed people experiencing poverty.
- Jesus rebukes his disciples, saying 1) that there will always be poor people and 2) that the woman wanted to do a good deed and that by pouring the perfume on his body, she is preparing him for his burial.
Let’s analyze the four elements of this little story.
1. Jesus is in Simon’s house, a.k .a. The Leper.
Ordinary people don’t go into a leper’s house and expose themselves to contagion, do they?
In the story, everyone knows who the leper is; they call him “Simon, The Leper.”
This means that only some people dare follow his destiny (to sit at the table in the house of Simon, the leper). You have to be very brave to step into the lion’s den. And even more so when everyone knows that doing so is dangerous.
The leper’s house, therefore, means self-determination and pursuing your life purpose, which is dangerous, and everyone knows it.
2. A woman enters with a cup of expensive perfume and pours it on Jesus.
The perfume was costly in Jesus’ time, and the woman comes into the story with a full glass, which is an exaggerated amount for the time.
The perfume represents the blessings and resources that the universe pours on those who dare to pursue their purpose in life (to enter the house of Simon, The Leper).
The woman who pours the perfume is willing to bet on the purpose of Jesus. Therefore, she represents all those people who are channels of blessing in your life and provide you with the necessary resources to be fulfilled as a human being and fulfill your purpose in life.
The purpose of the life of these people is to help you.
If you refuse to receive help from these people, you may be preventing them from fulfilling their life purpose, which turns your humility into selfishness.
3. The disciples say spending money on colonies is a waste.
The disciples represent the negative recurring thoughts that noble people normally have when trying to achieve their purpose.
- It is normal to think that you don’t deserve that money that seems to have fallen from heaven.
- It is normal not to want to waste it on “apparently” vain and mundane things like trips or experiences.
- It is normal to think that way when you are a good person. And that’s why some of you reject the resources and blessings the universe gives you.
You think you don’t deserve it, which denotes low self-esteem rather than humility.
It also denotes self-sabotage: something inside you does not want to receive the resources because you are afraid of reaching your goal (your cross).
4. Jesus rebukes his disciples.
You must understand that you do not just desire something (the perfume/your dreams).
You must understand that you NEED those gifts, resources, and blessings. Read it again.
- You need that money you are trying to visualize.
- You need that partner you are trying to attract into your life.
- You need to take that trip you are reluctant to take.
- You need that successful career that you long to materialize.
Because with those experiences or resources, you will reach your goal.
All of these are tools that prepare you to embrace your destiny.
You have been called to be the salt of the earth, the leaven of the bread, but for that to happen and for you to go to the cross and then be reborn, you need certain things to happen; it is not a matter of deserving or not deserving, it is a matter of logic.
You can’t make bread without water, yeast, and flour. You can’t do what you are meant to do without X or G things.
And when you understand that, your self-worth becomes your priority because you need to stop feeling bad about receiving gifts and presents from the universe.
Because they are not gifts; they are tools.
They are not free; everything the universe gives you is just what you need to fulfill your life purpose. And the price you will pay for it is higher than any perfume glass: you pay with your life.
So stop feeling that you are not enough, because at birth you have already paid the price for all those gifts.
